Since we have the new buildings (!!!) there have been a few changes in policy regarding the use of our labs and residence halls.
- We no longer allow snacks in residence hall rooms or the labs. Instead, we will provide you with Rubbermaid totes for any snacks you bring and keep these in the laundry room off our residence hall common area. You can eat snacks in the common area or outside. In the past, leniency towards this rule has been applied, and we have allowed snacks to be kept in the old labs. Since we now have a new residence hall as well as new labs, we want to keep our buildings pest free.
- Quiet hours have changed from 11pm-7am to 10pm-7am. This is because our new residence hall is a multi-use facility, and in order to be considerate to all who stay there, we have extended our quiet hours.
New Fieldbook
- We have put together a new fieldbook that corresponds more effectively with our lessons and provides more space for students’ notes and observations.
A few other reminders-
- We ask that your kids bring plastic garbage bags in which to transport their marsh clothing home. Although marsh mud is certainly very … well, marshy, sending the clothes through the washing machine gets them perfectly clean again. As an Environmental Education center, we strive to keep our program’s “footprint” as small as possible. For this reason, we ask that participants take their marsh clothes and shoes home with them instead of just throwing them in the dumpster.
- There is a $20 fee for any lost dorm keys due to the fact that they have to be specially ordered and shipped here.
Remember, all forms and permission slips must be turned in or you will not go on the trip!
